Private Information
All information relating to individuals is treated as confidential unless otherwise specified by the individual concerned.
The following personal information may be stored by the site:
- Information stored in your Message Board profile (if you have one). This information is supplied when you register for a Message Board account. You can control who, if anyone, can view this information, and the information can be edited or deleted by you.
- Personal information included in any messages that you post to the Message Board. This information can be viewed by anyone, and can be edited or deleted by you.
- Patients Stories. Stories sent to the Degos Patients’ Support Network using the "Add My Story" form will be reviewed, ad the patient contacted for permission, before being added to the Stories page.
For confidentiality reasons, only bona-fide medical practitioners are allowed to sign up to the Doctors’ site and Message Board. Pages on the Doctors’ site and the Doctor’s Message Board are restricted so that they can only be viewed by registered practitioners.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
No personal information will be shared with third parties, without the explicit consent of the individual(s) concerned.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for the following purposes only:
- retaining the login status for the Message Boards
- retaining the login status for the Doctors’ site
If you browse the site without logging into the Message Boards or the Doctors’ site, no cookies will be stored on your computer.
Any cookies are deleted when you close your web browser window, unless you choose the "Log me on automatically each visit" option for the Message Boards, in which case a cookie will be left so that you can be automatically logged on next time you visit the site.
